Relief Printing and the Artist Book
This masterclass and workshop is ideally suited to experienced printmakers who would like to extend their practice with relief prints and artists’ books under the guidance of award winning artist Dianne Fogwell.
Dianne will concentrate on the relief print in its diversity while troubleshooting “ways of printing” some book structures, focussing on the concertina folded book of various size and length.
Dianne will discuss drawing for the block, image creation, tools and the mark, registration and printing techniques for printing by hand or press.
Dianne will share her approach to artist books, covering book design from mock-up to press with a focus on ways of printing and registration methods.
Using relief printing methods, each artist will create a collaborative concertina book using 2 lino blocks prepared during the workshop.
We provide you with a pre-made concertina book so that each artist will go home with a printed collaboration piece and a memoir of your workshop companions for future investigation in your own studio.
